Regent Hotels & Resorts has debuted on hotel market of Chongqing with its new concept of “urban resort”. Regent Chongqing started operating in December in the financial district of the city called Jiangbeizui, which is located in the area of the Jialing and Yangtze rivers.
The new hotel is only managed by Regent as its owner is Casin Group. According to the hotelier, this is the first urban resort in Chongqing. It has 202 guestrooms, including 21 spacious suites that are on average 182 sq. m. large. All guestrooms feature modern large bathrooms and the majority of them offer beautiful river landscape views.
The hotel’s design has some distinct traditional elements that remind of the city’s history, heritage and its importance for modern China. Many of the materials used, such as lacquer, ceramic, jade and metal have always been traditional for the Sichuan province and have been used there for centuries. The interior design includes works by Korean ceramic artist Lee Eun, sculptures by Jessica Drenk (America), and metal artworks by Donnie Pan from Taiwan.
To the service of guests the hotel offers two bars and three restaurants that specialize in different cuisines and menus. Here guests will find different Asian cuisines available in a la carte and buffet, an all-day dining restaurant with international cuisine, a restaurant with large private dining rooms, a modern Sichuan cuisine restaurant and a teppanyaki restaurant. Fitness and gym facilities are represented by a heated swimming pool, a gym, a Jacuzzi and a spa with sauna. Meeting facilities include six function rooms and the Regent Ballroom that can accommodate up to 1,000 guests.
