137 Pillars Hotels Plan Rapid Expansion in Thailand

137 Pillars Hotels and Resorts is quite a new player on the hospitality market. The name of the company comes from the name of the heritage hotel 137 Pillars House Chiang Mai. The 30-suite property became the first one in the collection and inspired its owners to launch a whole hotel group with properties in Phuket, Bangkok and other popular tourist destinations.

The chief operating manager for the new hotel group has been already appointed. That is Christopher Stafford, former vice president of hotel operations in SilverNeedle Hospitality. He is responsible for opening of the second property, 137 Pillars Suites & Residences Bangkok. The hotel located in the center of the Thai capital on Sukhumvit Soi 39 is set to open in the end of this year.

The hotel will occupy floors 23th to 30th of a new mixed use tower. The hotel will feature 34 suites of different size (from 70 to 127 sq. m.) with large private balconies and 179 private residences with one or two bedrooms. These residences will be available in sizes from 40 to 114 sq. m. and will also come with private balconies. Facilities will be mostly located on the 32th floor of the tower and will include a sky bar, a spa with special areas for yoga and meditation, and rooftop infinity pool.

A third hotel in the new chain is set to open in 2019. This will be 137 Pillars Estate Phuket hotel on the north of Kata Beach. The resort will consist of 46 suites and 16 villas, each with its own private pool. Currently, 137 Pillars is in search for new management opportunities in Southeast Asia, the Maldives and Sri Lanka.
