Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has announced the opening of the first hotel in Tokyo, Japan, under its Luxury Collection brand. The hotel will start operating already in July 2016. The hotel is named The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho, a Luxury Collection Hotel. The owner of the property is Prince Hotels Inc. This is the second Luxury Collection hotel in Japan for Starwood, with the first property being Suiran hotel in Kyoto (open in April 2015). The Luxury Collection is one of rapidly developing brands of the famous hotelier the total number of hotels in the portfolio has already surpassed 100 properties in 30 countries.
Tokyo will host the 2020 Summer Olympic Games, so hospitality in Japan is expected to get a boost in coming years. The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho is located in a picturesque municipality of Chiyoda, the geographic center of Tokyo. Guests will sure enjoy close proximity to various attractions and tourist spots like Benkei Canal and Shimizudani Park. Akasaka Mitsuke is the closest metro station to the hotel. It provides easy access to such popular shopping and entertainment destinations of Tokyo as Shibuya, Ginza, Ikebukuro and Shinjuku. The new hotel will be a part of a mixed use development named Tokyo Garden Terrace that will become home not only for the hotel, but also for retail and business spaces. The top floor of the building will feature sunning panoramic views of the city. The hotel will occupy floors from 30 to 36.
The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho will feature 250 guestrooms and 11 luxury suites. The 35th floor will be location of signature Starwood bar with huge floor to ceiling windows. In the hotel, guests will also find 272 sq. m. of meeting and event space, a large swimming pool, business center, spa, fitness club, and club lounge.
