IHG has added its guestrooms of new generation to first four Holiday Inn Express hotels in the UK. The hotel rooms have been modeled with guest insight in mind. The new gen rooms will be a standard for Europe and will appear in all newly built hotels, same as in hotels that undergo renovation. The company says that at least one in four Holiday Inn Express hotels in Europe will feature rooms of the new kind within the next three years. First hotels to get the new generation rooms will be Holiday Inn Express London Park Royal, Holiday Inn Express Portsmouth North, Holiday Inn Express London Ealing, and Holiday Inn Express Grimsby.
The updated Holiday Inn Express concept features redesigned guestrooms, lobby, and dining areas. The guestrooms have become more comfortable. They now feature smart TVs that allow guests stream their personal data to the TV, Netflix access, and free Wi-Fi. The bed has become larger and now has noise-reducing headboard, which was inspired from a business class airplane seat. The soft headboard also makes it convenient to work or watch TV while in bed. The work zone has been remade as well. It is not a traditional chair and desk anymore. The new guestrooms feature ergonomically designed and movable chair with table, which can be placed in different parts of the room. The rooms also have a full-length mirror, ironing board, an iron, and a hairdryer. The next generation lobby provides food and beverage experience, while the new Express Café & Bar offers quickly prepared food for guests on the go.
