Wyndham Worldwide has announced that the company has reached its plans regarding the reduction of carbon emission beforehand. The famous hotelier has managed to reach the plan six years ahead of the stipulated schedule. Wyndham reported the reduction of carbon emissions of 20% on the per square foot basis. If convert that digit into more tangible items, the company managed to save more than 14 million gallons of petrol.
Wyndham started its carbon emission reduction program in 2010. The reduction was achieved in a number of ways. The hotelier analyzed its hotels in order to make them more efficient in water and energy use, acquired environmental certificated for selected properties and launched the new program named Wyndham Green Toolbox. Green Toolbox is special eco software for guestrooms and office facilities that measures environmental impact of hotels. All these steps have helped the company to manage its emission more efficiently and reduce it.
The company calls sustainability one of its top goals that are critical for development of Wyndham, so the hotelier doesn’t plan to stop on the achieved level and wants to add more environment oriented programs in future.
