It is always a challenge to add new facility to a famous historic hotel. Designers and architects face a problem of maintaining the atmosphere and concept of property, while keeping in mind expectations of customers. Hotel guests tend to be rather rigid, so designing team must be creative in quite narrow borders. When it was decided to add spa center in the Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa in Baden-Baden (Germany), designers faced the problem mentioned above.
The iconic hotel in Baden-Baden is located in the former house of Napoleon’s adoptive daughter. The 1890 building required special approach and careful design, so Bergit Countess Douglas, the person who is in charge of all renovations in the hotel during last 25 years, had to change traditional look of spa. All distinctive elements of spa were removed to suit the atmosphere of Villa Stephanie. Now guests of the hotel can enjoy plunge pool, hammam, ladies’ sauna, and private gym. The spa has similar soothing color palette with guestrooms, with blue and rose accents mixed with neutral colors.
