InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will add two more hotels in Portugal to its portfolio. These will be two properties in Portugal InterContinental Lisbon and Crowne Plaza Porto. The hotels will be managed by IHG in accordance with the contract with Hotelgal SA.
The flagship hotel in Lisbon was originally built in 1984 and worked as Le Meridien hotel, but in 2008 it was rebranded as the Tiara Park Atlantic Lisbon Hotel. The property features 237 deluxe guestrooms, 78 executive guestrooms, and 16 suites. Facilities in InterContinental Lisbon include a fitness studio, a spacious restaurant and bar, 18 meeting rooms and delegate space. IHG will steadily refurbish lobby and all public areas to make the hotel one of most popular destinations for luxury travelers in Lisbon. The hotel enjoys premium location in the area of Park Edouardo VII that is close to both city centre and financial district of the city. It takes just 5 minutes by foot to reach all main tourist sites, as well as Avenida Liberdade, famous for its boutiques and restaurants. The ride to Lisbon’s International Airport will take only 15 minutes, so the hotel will please guests who seek a convenient central location.
The other hotel is located in Porto in the district of Avenida de Boavista. It takes just 15 minutes to get to the hotel from the city airport, and Casa Da Musica, a large cultural centre that houses various shows and exhibitions, is also located a short walk away. The hotel will be particularly attractive to business travelers thanks to its close location to the commercial district.
Currently, IHG manages as many as 30 InterContinental branded properties and 82 Crowne Plaza hotels in Europe.
