Scandic Hotels has launched a very interesting program – hotel on the go. The popular Scandinavian hotelier offers Scandic To Go hotels that are available not in a fixed location, but in a location desired by hotel guests. Despite such mobility, Scandic To Go hotels offer standard amenities and services available in Scandic hotels.
The main idea of the new project was to offer pleasant hotel stay in most unusual and unexpected environment. Contrary to usual hotels, where the choice of location comes first, Scandic To Go hotels will come to the location selected by customers. Scandic, which is the biggest hotelier in Northern Europe with more than 230 hotels in portfolio, currently offers this service across the Nordic region. A typical Scandic To Go hotel consists of two hotel rooms, each of which is 18 sq. m. in size, and an attached terrace. Inside guests will find two 90cm beds, and small living room, TV set, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and a separate bathroom.
The idea to launch such mobile hotels came from analyzing travel patterns in Sweden. In 2013, the country was visited by almost 18.8 million foreign tourists. In addition to Stockholm, most popular destinations in the country include fjords, archipelago islands, and Gotland beaches that are far away from hotels, so tourists need to spend much time to reach them. That’s why it was decided, why not to make hotels close to these sights. A mobile hotel can be booked anywhere, so it will help foreign visitors explore Scandinavian countries in a new way.
