Scandic will soon build one of largest business hotels in Western Norway. The new hotel will be located in Bergen Airport. With Scandic Fresland Airport property, Scandic enhances its position as one of leading hotel companies in the Nordics.
In the beginning of 2014, Scandic already added Rica Hotels to its portfolio. Together with this chain, Scandic has as many as 230 hotels in 8 countries. Among newest projects of the hotelier are Scandic Stavanger City and Scandic Ørnen, while the third newly announced hotel (Scandic Fresland Airport) is set to open in 2017.
Scandic is already the biggest hotel company in Nordic countries, and its presence is only growing with time, providing customers with more choices and locations. The company’s strategy is to open more large hotels in most sought after locations, and the new hotel in Scandic Airport is a wonderful example of that strategy. Currently, there is demand for large event and meeting facilities in Bergen, and Scandic Fresland Airport will offer that to its customers. The hotel will have 25 meeting rooms that range in size. The biggest meeting room will be 1,000 sq. m. large and will be able to accommodate 800 people. The new hotel is located close to the airport and the planned business center, so it may attract many visitors. In addition to meeting and event space, the new hotel will have a restaurant, a bar, and a gym. Guests will enjoy various signature services of Scandic hotels, such as mobile check-out. The new hotel will be also environment-friendly and will use solar collectors for heating and cooling.
