Andy Murray to Open a Hotel in Scotland

Andy Murray, tennis legend and Wimbledon champion, will open a hotel next spring. The hotel will be located in the home town of the player – Dunblane, Scotland. The luxury hotel will be called Cromix, and you can already make a booking in it.

Early this year Murray purchased an elegant mansion made in Victorian style, surrounded by 34 acres of beautiful woodland. The renovation works lasted nine months, during which the mansion was refurbished and 10 spacious guestrooms and five 5 wonderful suites were organized in it. All of the rooms were named after famous Scottish people – William Wallace, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Robert the Bruce, Sean Connery, and other prominent figures.

The new hotel will provide jobs for approximately 40 people. Murray decided to open the hotel to help the economy of the place where he grew up.

The hotel has quite high price tag – room rates start from 200 pounds per night. This price includes the price of a full Scottish breakfast. Besides guestrooms, Cromix hotel has such facilities as a dining room, whisky room, library, two drawing rooms, conservatory, reception hall and even a chapel. The chapel can be used to hold small weddings with less than 30 people participating. There is also a larger event space that can hold up to 300 guests.

Without a doubt, you can try Murray’s most beloved sport – the hotel has a tennis court and a practise wall. Other activities available include billiards, archery, fishing, golf, and hunting.

Just like many luxury hotels, Cromix will offer exceptional dining options. The hotel’s restaurant is managed by a team of Chef Albert Roux, owner of the Le Gavroche restaurant in London. This restaurant is the first restaurant in the UK awarded with 3 Michelin stars.
