Milan, London, and New York are among top fashion cities in the world thanks to best shops and fashion weeks that traditionally attract media, fashion insiders and other people fascinated with the world of beauty and style. This year, hotels in the abovementioned cities have managed to benefit from fashion week shows, and their results are better comparing to 2012.
Milan accommodations are on the top with almost 70% guestrooms in the city already booked for September 17-24. According to TravelClick, this year’s bookings are 37.2% higher than September 2012 bookings.
Spring/summer 2014 events in New York committed over 31% of hotel rooms. Bookings are also strong in hotels in London. 2013 can safely be called a good year for hotels in the UK capital. Bookings for the period of the fashion week are 6.4% higher this year comparing to September 2012. Fashion week is the reason for booking one in three rooms in London hotels. The city’s hoteliers have also managed to increase their revenues because of the average daily rate growth (+13.3%).
Paris is the city that will host the “grand finale” of the global fashion week, and currently over 40% of guestrooms in Paris hotels are booked. As average daily rate for the fashion week period is already 4.2% higher than in 2012, hotels in Paris also expect their revenues to grow.
