While some popular hotels in Paris plan to close for restoration purposes, others start working again. Prince de Galles in Paris is one of them. The hotel has been recently reopened after two years of restoration works.
The original building of the hotel was designed in 1928 by Andre Arfvidson. The property, made in the Art Deco style, was restored by a team of professionals Bruno Borrione, Pierre-Yves Rochon and ERTIM Architectes SA.
After the restoration 115 guestrooms and 44 suites look even more Art Deco thanks to new furniture made from Macassar ebony, classic sycamore dressing rooms and beautiful mosaic marble floors by Saint Laurent. The hotel’s suites are divided into two types these are 18 Macassar and 23 Mosaic suites. The suites are distinguished by geometrical design, marble floors, large ebony decks and furniture. Even carpets in these suites have marble mosaic pattern. There are also 2 royal suites that are distinguished by beautiful black and gold accents that are harmoniously added to armchairs with leopard print, lacquered furniture, and dark marble. The Gold Suite is decorated with gold murals in the shape of leaves made by Manuela Paul-Cavallier, and the Sapphire Suite is mostly made in blue and beige, and has a wonderful living room perfect for intimate meetings or rest.
Public areas of the hotel have also been remade, and so they also feature Macassar ebony, black marble, and furniture inspired by 1920s.
