The UK hotelier Whitbread PLC announced the launch of a new brand Hub by Premier Inn - that will be mostly targeted at savvy travellers. The main concept of the brand is in building compact hotels in central parts of cities.
The first hotel under the new brand will start operating next summer. This will be Hub by Premier Inn hotel on St. Martin’s Lane, London. The hotelier wants to open additional four hotels in London between 2015 and 2016. Whitbread plans the opening of as many as 40 hotels by the new brand (approximately 6000 guestrooms in total) within next 5-7 years.
Hub by Premier Inn hotels will have very small guestrooms approximately 11.4 sq. m., however, they will have all modern popular features such as free Wi-Fi, a 102 cm smart screen TV, and suite-type bathroom with power shower. The rooms will have pocket-sprung beds and space for luggage under the bed. Guests of the hotel will be also able to enjoy simple online check-in, and are welcome to specify preferred room temperature and light settings in advance. They even can order some TV or radio channel playing upon their arrival. It is also possible to stream content from your own smartphone or tablet to the TV.
Whitbread plans to make Hub by Premier Inn hotels 25% cheaper than Central London Premiere Inn in build and maintaining. The average price per night is expected to be under £100. Moreover, thanks to smaller guestrooms, it will be easier to find suitable buildings in city centres.
