Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced the opening of the first property in the city of Shanghai. The new hotel is named Mandarin Oriental Pudong, and it is located on the bank of the Huangpu River in the east of the city. The new hotel has 318 guestrooms and 44 suites. There are also 210 fully serviced apartments in the territory of the hotel.
The design of the hotel has been developed by Bernardo Fort-Brescia from Arquitectonica. In this hotel guests will find original design solutions and stunning views of Shanghai skyline and the Bund. The hotel has also become home to the largest and most luxurious suite in Shanghai the Presidential Suite is 788 sq. m. large and it has its own garden terrace with panoramic views of Shanghai’s skyline. All executive apartments have different size and mostly range from small studios to huge three-bedroom accommodations. All apartments are fully serviced and have butler and 24h concierge service.
Dining facilities are represented by Five 8º Grill, a French restaurant, Zest (all day restaurant), and Yong Yi Ting (Chinese cuisine). Guests are also welcome to visit the hotel’s Qi Bar, The Mandarin Cake Shop, and the Riviera Lobby Lounge. The hotel has a spa centre, where guests can enjoy relaxing procedures in one of 13 suites, try heat and water treatments or choose a crystal steam room, ice fountain, aroma showers, and tepidarium chairs. The spa centre is decorated with butterfly motifs that remind of transformation. The territory of the hotel also includes a fitness centre, eight meeting rooms, an indoor pool, a fitness centre, and even an art gallery with over 4000 artworks “exhibited” throughout the hotel.
