New World Hospitality will enter Belgium. The company has announced the opening of five hotels in the country. All of them will operate under the Pentahotels brand.
This has become possible after the Cheng family (Hong Kong) purchased stakes in the following hotels the 103-guestroom Mercure Liege Cenre, the 201-guestroom Mercure Brussels Center Luise, and the 87-guestroom Alliance Hotel Brussels Airport. The company has also purchased the leasehold in the 101-guestroom Mercure Leuven Centre hotel and the 79-guestroom Alliance Hotel Brussels Expo. The sum of the deal is not disclosed. It is also not known whether the company leaves the existing hotels names or gives new names to them.
Pentahotels is one of the brands of the hotel company New World Hospitality that is headquartered in Hong Kong. The company currently operates 11 hotels in Germany, one hotel in the UK, one hotel in Austria, and two hotels in mainland China. However, the hotel company has rather ambitious plans, and wants to increase the size of its portfolio to 80 hotels worldwide by 2020. This year new World Hospitality has announced the expansion of the portfolio by 70%. The company will add as many as seven hotels. These will be properties in Hong Kong, the UK, and Czech Republic.
