This October Rosewood Hotels & Resorts will open a hotel in London. The new hotel is located in the building of the former Pearl Assurance Company that was constructed in 1914. Currently, the building is undergoing a US$130 million renovation that will turn it into a hotel.
It is reported that the new hotel will have 262 guestrooms and 44 luxury suites. The main idea of the hotel’s designers was to create the atmosphere of home, but to make the hotel look stylish at the same time. All the accommodations, event and function space, and other public areas are developed by the New York based company Tony Chi and Associates.
Among the hotel’s guestrooms will be truly exclusive accommodations, such as Manor House Suite. The six-bedroom suite will have a private elevator and can be entered from a private street entrance. The suite will even have a separate postcode! The Garden House Suite will have a large terrace with a private garden. This suite also has great views of the city. There is also a duplex suite called the Chancery House Suite.
Among the most distinguishing features of the hotel we certainly cannot fail to mention the exclusive seven-storey Pavonazzo staircase made of marble. This is the original staircase that has left from the first design of the building. Other elements that have been kept from the original building are the façade and mahogany elements of the interior. Previously, the building has marble columns that have been restored just like the mosaic floor.
The design of the restaurant is the work of Martin Brudnizki. He also developed the hotel’s bar and its outdoor terrace. The restaurant has two private dining rooms and one show kitchen. Other facilities in Rosewood hotel in London include a spa, a fitness hall and a space for various conferences and other events for 435 visitors.
