Westin to Open its 200th Hotel This Year
This year will definitely become a huge milestone for Westin as the company plans to open its 200th hotel. The hotelier plans to open 11 hotels in total in 2013. The majority of new accommodations will be located in such fast-growing markets as China, India, Panama, and Singapore.
Westin has quickly become one of the most popular brands by Starwood thanks to its skilled positioning and excellent service. The brand is liked not only by travellers from different parts of the world, but also by hotel owners. The brand is particularly popular in Asia Pacific, where it has many loyal customers and one of the fastest growing rates. This year, seven hotels out of 11 are to be opened in this region, increasing the portfolio of the brand to 50 hotels. One of the major reasons for such success it rapid growth of China. The country’s second and third-tier cities develop at a high pace, giving the company many wonderful opportunities to open its new hotels. Among the awaited Westin hotels that are to open in China in 2013 are the Westin Chongqing Liberation Square, The Westin Haikou, The Westin Qingdao, and The Westin Sanya Haitang Bay Resort. In Singapore, the company will open the Westin Singapore Marina Bay hotel closer to the end of 2013. India’s portfolio will get one additional property – the Westin Chennai Velachery.
These are not all the news from the brand. Westin hotels are also very welcome in Latin America. Within just 18 months the brand has managed to increase its portfolio by almost 50%. New Westin hotels will appear in Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru, Guatemala, and Panama.
