Hyatt Hotels Corporation has become the owner of the Hyatt Regency Birmingham hotel. The company purchased the property from the sale organized by Ernst and Young.
Earlier the hotel was owned by Hyatt Regency Birmingham, a limited company. The company was put under administration in June 2011. Hyatt Hotels was operating the property in accordance with a management agreement. Now it has also become the owner of the hotel. The sum of the deal estimated £27 million.
The 319-guestroom Hyatt Regency Birmingham is located right in the heart of the city. The hotel is connected to the International Convention Centre by a bridge that crosses a busy road. Among the hotel’s users were delegates of the recent Conservative Party Conference.
The purchase of the hotel in London is not the only acquisition of Hyatt. In October Hyatt also purchased hotels in Minnesota and Puerto Rico.
