Hyatt will open Hyatt Regency hotel in Colombo, the largest city of Sri Lanka. This will be the first Hyatt-branded hotel in the country.
The new hotel will be opened in accordance with the agreement between Hyatt and Sinolanka Hotels and Spa Private. As the hotelier’s spokesman mentioned, they were very pleased to be involved into this project. Sri Lanka is a quickly growing market, and Hyatt definitely wants to set up its presence there.
The new hotel is expected to open in 2014. Hyatt Regency Colombo will be conveniently located in the central business district (CBD) of the city. Hyatt hopes that the new hotel will attract both leisure and business travellers. The hotel will offer a wide range of services and dining options. The 42-floor hotel on Galle Road will have 475 guestrooms and 84 fully serviced apartments perfect for a long-term stay. The territory of the hotel will include a large lobby lounge, a famous Regency Club lounge, a swimming pool, a fitness center, and a spa center with eight treatment rooms. The hotel’s dining facilities will be represented by a multi-cuisine restaurant, an all-day dining restaurant, three specialty restaurants, and a bar. Hyatt Regency Colombo will also feature a large meeting space of 1,579 sq. m. There will also be a large ballroom (696 sq. m.) perfect for various events and weddings.
