Coorg, which is often called the “Scotland of India”, now has one more comfortable place to stay for its numerous guests. The Vivanta by Taj-branded property opened this month. The hotel in India is located among truly scenic surroundings and has the territory of 72 hectares.
Built in a subtropical rainforest, the hotel seems to be located in the middle of wild nature. However, the property is just four miles away from Madikeri. The exclusive accommodation consists of 63 guestrooms and villas. Everything is made in an environment-friendly manner. Such materials as recycled wood and river stones were used in the building of the hotel. Many bricks and paints are made with the use of displaced soil. In order to save energy, the hotel uses only LED and compact fluorescent lighting.
In addition to regular guestrooms, the hotel also features several villas and suites. Luxury Bliss villas are 306 sq. m. large and have retractable sunroofs and built-in pools. Premium Temptation villas are also 306 sq. m. large, but they have bigger swimming pools with fantastic views of the valley. There is also a huge Presidential Nirvana suite that is 836 sq. m. large. The suite is equipped with three bedrooms, a private pavilion, various in-house dining facilities, and a private swimming pool.
The territory of the hotel also includes a lage 2,787 sq. m. Jiva Grande spa centre that is equipped with several treatment rooms, steam and showers, an authentic Gudda bath, a relaxation deck, and even a wellness café.
Dining facilities are represented by the Nellaki Restaurant with many local specialties, all-day Fern Tree, a grill and a bar. The hotel has its own organic herb garden and even a strawberry farm. The plants grown there are then served to guests. The hotel also offers various entertaining activities for guests, such as pottery classes, hiking, camping, visiting coffee plantations, and more.
