Starwood Hotels and Resorts has announced the company will manage a newly built hotel in Erbil, Iraq. The property will work under Sheraton brand.
The opening of the new hotel is scheduled for 2015. The launch of Sheraton Erbil Hotel will signify the return of the internationally famous hotelier to the hotel market of Iraq. The American company left the country 20 years ago.
Sheraton hotel in Erbil will have 221 guestrooms and 39 suites. The rooms of the hotel will be equipped with all standard Sheraton amenities and will have famous Sweet Sleeper beds. In the territory of the hotel will be also located a signature spa, Club Lounge, a fitness center powered by Core Performance, and two swimming pools (an indoor and an outdoor ones). Business facilities will include a huge ballroom (720 sq. m.), several meeting rooms, a conference center, and a modern business center with private offices.
The new property will be located in the new part of the city approximately 10 minutes away from the International Airport of Erbil. The accommodation is located along the new road that connects all main sights and attractions of the city, including Sami Abdul Rahman Park and the ancient Citadel.
