In the nearest future Vietnam may become one of the countries that allow the building of large casino and gambling centers. The country’s government may give the green light to a building of a large hotel and casino in Quang Ninh Province.
Recently the country’s minister Vu Duc Dam has said the government considers the possibility of allowing the building a large center in the Van Don district. Apart from hotel features, the resort will attract visitors by a casino. The estimated cost of the project is $4 billion. The building of such a large complex may cause a positive impact on the development of tourism in the region and will help the general development of Quang Ninh Province.
The local press reports that the Malaysian casino operator Genting has much interest in this project. The second company linked with this grand resort in Las Vegas Sands.
This March the Minister of Finance Vuong Dinh Hue made a visit to Singapore, during which he studied the gambling industry of the republic and met with its gambling authorities. However, some time is still needed for the country to allow gambling and permit the citizens of Vietnam to visit casinos.
