The Paris-headquartered hotelier Louvre Hotels Group has announced the collaboration with Qualia Development, the subsidiary of PKO Bank Polski (the largest bank in the country). The two companies start a strategic partnership targeted at building of midscale and upscale accommodations in different parts of Poland.
Qualia Development will build 7 hotels in Poland that will start operating between 2012 and 2016, and Louvre Hotels will operate these properties. The hotels will add around 1,000 guestrooms to the hotel market of the country. All properties will be managed under Royal Tulip and Golden Tulip brands. One of the first hotels opened under this collaboration will be located near the Warsaw Airport. Other accommodations will be mainly leisure tourists oriented, and, thus, will be opened in popular tourist destinations across Poland. The location of other hotels is already known. Four out of seven hotels will be built on the coast of the Baltic Sea. One hotel will be opened in Zakopane, a popular ski resort in the Tatras mountain region. There will also be a hotel in Duszniki-Zdroj, a popular spa town.
The first accommodation will open this June. This will be a hotel in Miedzyzdroje – a popular resort just 20 kilometers away from the border with Germany. Golden Tulip Miedzyzdroje Residence will be located just 100 meters away from the beach, but it will have convenient access to the folkloric center of this city.
The opening of hotels in Poland is a part of the global Eastern Europe plan of the hotelier, according to which Louvre plans to have as many as 40 hotels in the region by 2015.
