Despite several unfavorable facts like weather conditions and the threat of new economic crisis hotels in France showed good results in August 2011. According to a report provided by Extenso, the hotels feature growth in occupancy and even growing rates have not prevented this.
The occupancy of 4- and 5-star hotels in France in August estimated 71.6%, which is 3.8% higher than in August 2010. The ADR level reached €247 (US$337), showing the increase of 3.2%. RevPAR added 7.1% and estimated €177 (US$241).
Hotels in Paris show particularly strong performance. This is very notable by RevPAR level, which has managed to grow by 16.6%. Here revenue per available apartment of 4- and 5-star hotels grew to €172 (US$235).
Even though a picture is mostly positive, some explanations should be added. The result for French hotels is a mixed figure, so it shows an overall trend. Not all cities of France have faced improving situation. For example, hotels in Grenoble, Rennes, Avignon, Rouen, and Nantes show worsened performance with occupancy fall of 5% or more. Moreover, this study is provided for 4- and 5-star accommodations. 3-star hotels experience lower occupancy throughout the country.
