HVS has just issued its biannual London Boutique Hotel Monitor with some very interesting information. According to it, 2,544 rooms in London hotel boutiques will be added by 2013. This almost doubles the current number of rooms and makes this segment the fastest growing one in the capital of the UK.
Boutique hotels target to customers who want to stand out from the crowd. Such hotels have become very popular in London, so this trend may soon expand to other cities of Europe. However, sales here have their peculiarities. HVS London mentions that excellent dining facilities and bars may become the key attractive factor to guests. Among other methods of promotion are direct sales and various bonuses for loyal guests.
Boutique hotels often cooperate with famous chefs and offer exclusive menus and dishes. Such offerings may attract publicity to the hotel and make it successful. Less than outstanding dining facilities in boutique hotels will add up very little to the success of the company. Currently approximately 40-50% of total sales of a hotel are got from selling food and beverages, so a successful restaurant often means a successful hotel. For boutique hotels it’s also important to provide its guests with close and convenient access to restaurants and bars.
