Radisson Blu has announced the opening of a hotel in Dehradun, which is also known as the capital of Uttarakhand state, India. This city is approximately 250km away from New Delhi. Dehradun has direct connection with Delhi through its Dehradun Jolly Grant Airport, which is located 25 kilometers away from the city. The new hotel will have 125 guestrooms. This is the 89th hotel in India (including properties under development) opened by the Carlson group.
The hotel will be located in a newly constructed building. All building works will begin already this September, and the hotel will start operating in the second quarter of 2014.
The building will have 6 stores. The hotel’s design is the creation of the famous Italian architect Giampiero Peia. On the territory of the hotel will be built a restaurant serving Indian food, an all-day eatery, a swimming pool, a spa center, a bar, health club, and lounge zone in lobby. Business facilities of the hotel will be represented by several meeting rooms and a large grand ball room.
The opening of this hotel is a part of Ambition 2015 strategy of the company. According to it, Carlson plans to open as much as 100 hotels in India by 2015.
