Approximately 100 hotels around the world will be soon added to the list of Preferred Pride Collection Hotels. These hotels will be marked as LGBT (lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender) friendly and will be recommended to LGBT travellers.
In order to appear in this list, hotels must assure they support equality and stand for development of LGBT community, so LGBT travellers will be sure they are cordially welcome in Preferred Pride Hotels. Hotels in this list must belong to one of the following organizations – IGLTA (International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association) or be approved by TAG (Community Marketing’s Travel Alternative Group). These organizations are internationally famous and they set up standards for LGBT travel.
Staff in Preferred Pride hotels must undergo a special program that will provide them with information how to provide best service for members of LGBT community starting from check-in and up to check-out. Each hotel must also appoint an “internal ambassador” who will continuously check LGBT support and train new staff members.
The staff training includes serving same sex couples, providing them with toiletries, slippers and bathrobes; having a concierge who will be able to recommend best places for rest and entertainments for LGBT clients; finally, a hotel can provide customers with brochures that throw light upon this information.
