IHG has concluded the agreement with Al Aqeeq Real Estate Development Co. concerning the opening a hotel in Medina, a holy city in Saudi Arabia. The hotel will be launched under the Holiday Inn brand.
The 400-key property will be titled Holiday Inn Medina-Al Safwa. Located not far away from the famous Al Haram Holy Mosque, this property will provide high quality service for both religious pilgrims and business travellers.
Medina is a popular destination for many travellers, so there’s always strong demand for hotel rooms. This is particularly true for midscale accommodations. The opening of this property is a part of the global plan of IHG concerning the opening of 10,652 guestrooms within next 3-5 years. Large share of hotels will be opened under the Holiday Inn brand that offers convenient accommodations at good rates.
Holiday Inn is one of the most popular brands of the hotelier. Nowadays IHG has 313 Holiday Inn hotels under development around the world. Three of them will be opened in the Saudi Arabia. The company also has properties under other brands in this kingdom. These are Crowne Plaza and InterContinental hotels.
