The capital of Finland is the most popular tourist destination in the country. In 2010 it was visited by 1.8 million of people. Powered by growing demand of the second part of 2010, in 2011 the positive trend continued and so this region reached a rise of 10.7% in January in RevPar and stalled ADR.
Helsinki accommodations are popular among either business or leisure travellers. First group of visitors is traditionally interested in well-developed business infrastructure and good conditions, while leisure travellers enjoy multiple sights and healthy atmosphere. Helsinki is also an important air transport link and this is also one of the main advantages for hotels in this city.

In February 2010 this region started showing first signs of improvement. At that time growth was mainly powered by the increased number of tourists arriving to Helsinki airport.
