Chatwal Plans to Have 50 Hotels in India Until 2016

News Indian hotelier Sant Singh Chatwal has revealed his plans concerning the increasing of his company’s portfolio of hotels in India to 50 by 2016. Chatwal Hotels & Resorts owns the Dream and Night brand that specializes in boutique hotels. Such increase in the number of hotels is planned to be reached through collaboration with Windham Hotel Group.

Major growth within next 5 years will be the result of franchising agreements according to Mr. Chatwal. He mentions there are around 100,000 hotels rooms in India and this is not much for such a huge country. It can easily fit another 100,000 of guestrooms. The final target of the brand is to reach 100 hotels in India. At the moment Dream and Night has properties in Bangkok, New York City, India and Cochin.

New York Times reports the Indian hotelier has concluded an agreement with Wyndham and plans to start a major expansion with the help of this globally famous company. According to the deal, Wyndham receives exclusive rights concerning the franchising and managing of all Dream and Night hotels. However, Chatwal remains the owner of this brand.
