Due to violence in Libya and especially in its capital Tripoli the majority of famous internationally-branded hotels have decided to suspend their work.
It has been revealed Marriott suspends all activities of its JW Marriott Hotel in Tripoli. The 370-key accommodation is simply left as all expatriate employees (187 people) and the 2 remaining guests are evacuated to Amman by a charter flight. From this country all people will be able to make trips to their homes.
The next giant to suspend its activities is Starwood. The company has already made a statement most likely it would suspend all operations in its Four Points by Sheraton in Tripoli. No bookings are accepted until a special notice. As Starwood’s representatives state, providing safety to its guests is the company’s global policy and currently the company is unable to do this.
Finally, the 5-star Corinthia Hotel in Tripoli doesn’t accept any bookings until March 16. The possibility of bookings for a later date is still under a question. No bookings are accepted in Al Mahary Radisson Blu Hotel as well.
