It’s reported that InterContinental hotels in Germany will be terminated on April 1. All three properties represent the luxury segment and are owned by Neue Dorint GmbH. The reason for such decision is in disputes among both companies. However, neither side reveals the details of the dispute.
The terminated accommodations are the 286-key InterContinental hotel in Dusseldorf, the 584-key InterContinental hotel in Berlin and the 262-key InterContinental hotel in Koln.
According to the statement, published by InterContinental Hotels, the company cannot continue working with Neue Dorint GmbH despite all efforts of solving the existing problems. In its turn Neue Dorint mentions there will be no interruptions in work of these hotels as the stuff of all three hotels is employed by the Cologne-based company. Only managers are provided by InterContinental, so the company will either reflag these properties, concluding an agreement with another managing organization, or will operate all three properties under its own brand Dorint Hotels & Resorts that already has 33 hotels in Europe in its portfolio.
