Jukkasjarvi village located in the northern part of Sweden 200 kilometers away from Polar circle offers new service for all guests – ice sculpture creation master classes. Special courses will be held in this hotel from the 5th to 10th of July 2011. In order to create the optimal temperature for cutting ice figures, the owners of the hotel in Sweden provide special room with constant temperature of -6C.
During the study participants can live in the ice hotel in Jukkasjarvi. These courses are intended for a limited number of students, so the organizers recommend hurrying up if you want to participate.
July is not the random choice of month as this time is one of the most beautiful periods of the year in Swedish Lapland. This summer month is the peak of the short polar summer when due to polar day sun shines almost 24 hours a day.
The cost of these courses estimates 5 525 krona (around 600 euro). The sum includes the cost of instruments and ice blocks that will be used as material for new ice sculptors. The qualification of the teachers leaves no place for hesitation as over a hundred of ice figures are made in this hotel each year. The figures are then used as furniture and other elements of design in the ice hotel.
Jukkasjarvi village is located 12 kilometers away from Kiruna city – the biggest city in the Swedish part of Lapland. You can also get to Kiruna from Stockholm. It takes around an hour and a half to get to the town from the capital of Sweden by plane.
