Famous Sol Meliá Hotels and Resorts company has announced the opening of its 6th property in London. The hotel will be built under ME Hotels brand and is scheduled for opening in 2012 – just in the right time before 2012 Summer Olympics in the capital on England.
The new ME hotel in London will have 173 rooms and is organized in the former City Bank residence. Currently Norman Foster, a well-known British designer, works over the hotel’s design, promising something really “cutting-edge”. ME Hotel London will target either leisure or business tourists.
Nowadays Sol Meliá heavily promotes its ME brand. The launching of ME hotel in Vienna has been announced recently. The new accommodation will join the existing hotel chain consisting of ME Barcelona, Madrid, Cabo and Cancun. Sol Meliá CEO Gabriel Escarrer Jaume underlines the importance of expanding ME brand all over Europe and hopes tourists from different countries will enjoy staying in these hotels.
ME Hotel in London will be advantageously located – just next to Covent Garden and Trafalgar Square. This district is very popular among tourists and businessmen, so launching a hotel here is a potentially very profitable idea. ME London will fit strictest standards and will be certified as a “Biosphere Hotel”. The hotel will have several restaurants and bars, and a huge 7,857 sq. ft. convention center. Moreover, ME London offers exclusive service for VIP guests, who will be offered a separated floor, an aromatherapy lounge with exotic cocktails, a separate check-in, petit dejeuner, and an intimate lounge.
