According to a recent study conducted by Hotels.com, the hotel prices increased with the relative stabilization in the global economy.
Capri, New York and Geneva were found to be the most expensive cities for hotel rooms. In Geneva, as well as throughout the rest of Switzerland, the average room rates rose 8%, while in New York price increase amounted as much as 14%.
In Europe, as well as in the Caribbean, the prices increased by 1%, in the U.S. - by 3%, while in Asia, on the contrary, stabilized.
The most expensive tourist destination is the Italian island of Capri, which prices rise amounted to 7% and surpassed even the most expensive Monte Carlo hotels.
The top ten most expensive hotels are located in Dubrovnik (Croatia), Rio de Janeiro, Bali, Paris,Venice, London and Moscow.
However, there are some international destinations like Reykjavik, Abu Dhabi or Dubai which experienced a price drop during the first half of the year. Prices in hotels in Abu Dhabi fell 46%, in Reykjavik - 18%, in Hungary - 7% and 6% in Copenhagen, Athens, Taipei and Dublin.
