Charlottenburg Palace

The beautiful Charlottenburg Palace is located on the territory of the district of the same name in Berlin. It was built by the order of Queen Sophia Charlotte in 1699. The Queen was the wife of Frederick I. The palace was originally called Lietzenburg. It was renamed Charlottenburg by order of the king after the Queen died. The palace was supplemented with new buildings for many years after its foundation. It gradually turned into a fairly large-scale structure.
