The name of this town can be translated as “diamond”. This is a wonderful town that sparkles with bright colors in sunrays and attracts visitors by its atmosphere of solitude and calmness. It took Diamant just several years to turn from a small fishing village into a modern town that attracts travellers from all over the world. The ruins of the local castle are considered one of the main sights of the town. The castle was built in the 18th century by Tiberius Carafa – a famous leader and politician. The building of the castle was the first step towards the development of the city. The old part of Diamant keeps several other buildings created in 18-19 centuries.
