Travel Guide to Agadir, Morocco

Agadir is a famous beach resort located on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean. Its name can be translated as “The city of white color”. This name was given to the city because of numerous huge beaches with white sand. Agadir is a perfect place for tourists who seek active rest. Here you will find golf fields, tennis courts, and the beaches have wonderful conditions for surfing.

Most probably, this is the most “European” of all Moroccan cities. Here women don’t wear hijab and many local people prefer European style in clothes. One of the oldest buildings is Essaouira fortress located on the shore. Guests, who enjoy being close to nature, should visit Immuzer region, where they can see a fantastic waterfall and walk through a local nature reserve. Tassila region is famous for its dancing festivals and spectacular carnivals, which take place here almost every month. If you want to visit more historic places and see old buildings, then you should consider visiting Tiznit and Tafraoute.
