Here you can admire the amazing lunar landscape, see rare species of plants and typical inhabitants of desert areas that have managed to adapt to harsh conditions. Willandra Lakes Region is interesting from archaeological point of view. Researchers discovered some unique items there.
Findings show that people lived in these places 60 000 years ago. The most interesting findings were found in the dunes of Mungo Lake. These remains of human activity are the oldest in Australia. Tourists who plan to visit this wonderful region, could walk along sand dunes and dry lake basins, as well as witness the traces of the ancient people who miraculously survived on the clay lands.
