ArcelorMittal Orbit Tower, England

From series “Elegant Architectural Structures for Fans of Skywalks”
Year: 2012. Height: 115 meters.

One of the main and most original landmarks of the British capital is a lookout tower ArcelorMittal Orbit. The height of the tower, which looks more like a wonderful sculpture, is 115 meters. It is located on the territory of the Olympic Park. Construction of the tower was completed in 2012, by the opening of the Olympic Games. It is a fabulous building in the style of public art. There is an observation deck on top of it. During the Olympic Games, it allowed visitors to see the Olympic Village in all its glory.

ArcelorMittal Orbit Tower, England In 2015, the tower was reconstructed. It was altered in a huge slide downhill. As noted by the authors of the tower project, Cecil Balmond and Anish Kapoor, they were inspired by the unique appearance of the Eiffel Tower. Numerous twists in the construction symbolize the intertwining of the Olympic rings. At some point design of the sight is reminiscent of a DNA molecule. The ArcelorMittal Orbit Tower doesn’t feature a great height, although it is higher than many famous landmarks, including the Statue of Liberty.

Initially, the main feature of the construction is its uncommon shape. By idea of the authors, people looking at the amazing tower should enjoy its unique appearance and distract themselves from the series of daily concerns. Construction of ArcelorMittal Orbit has become one of the largest environmental projects in recent years. The structure consists of recycled steel for more than 60%. The construction of the tower took 18 months. Its carcass includes about 560 meters of tubular steel painted in rich red color. Next - Nasinneula Observation Tower
