Many people are interested in the interpretation of the dream, including for the works of Siegmund Freud connected with this theme. Not all, however, know that the museum dedicated to 'dreamthematic' is located in Saint Petersburg. The location of the Museum of Dreams Freud is the magnificent 19th century villa, not far from the Winter Palace. The museum was opened in 1999 on the occasion of the important event - the 100th anniversary of the publication of Freud's book 'Traumdeutun'.

The museum's collection is based on the old books, photographs and articles that the scientist used to write the book. One of the museum rooms is equipped with the special lighting system, the mirrors of various shapes and sizes are attached to the walls. Only one visitor can enter this hall at once, so that the so-called 'effect of the dream in waking' could be felt perfectly.

In the museum there is a film hall where often the exciting documentary films are running. In the lecture hall the interesting cultural events take place every week. Every year, about 10,000 people visit the museum devoted to dreaming. The people who find this topic extremely interesting can visit the library next to the museum, which presents a large selection of the thematic books, including the legendary work Freud.
