An impressive 9-storey building with a twisting shape is situated in Hanover. In addition to the twisted shape, the Gehry Tower building is also distinguished by a rather unusual way of construction. While the main building material for its construction was steel. The project of an unusual building has been designed by the famous local architect Frank Gehry, it was built on the special order of the Hanover transport company.
The non-standard twisted form of the building has initially had an important functional significance. For the construction of the office building a relatively small area has been allocated. Its twisted form allowed to maximize the available space for office equipment. Construction of the building began in 1999 and lasted less than two years, the office center was commissioned in June 2001.
The immediate erection of the building was preceded by a long and complex process of its modeling. Architects created a model for the construction at a scale of 1: 100, the parameters of which were calculated using advanced software. Thus, the architects were able to accurately calculate the parameters of the future building, which would make it as safe and functional as possible. Today, a strict building with a stainless steel facade is one of the outstanding architectural sights of Hanover.
