The name of Honolulu city means “the protected haven”. The city is located on the Oahu Island of the Hawaiian Archipelago. This is the capital of Hawaii State. According to the ratings this is the tenth largest city of the US and the only city of Hawaii Islands that looks like other US cities with its multiple shops, cities, restaurants, and China town. All airplanes from the mainland arrive to Honolulu. The main sight of Honolulu is the famous Waikiki Beach. Honolulu looks like a small rectangle that is limited by a long beach on south, Kapiolani Park on east and the blue ribbon of Ala Wai Canal on north.
Waikiki Beach is widely known because of its mild climate and good weather almost 365 days a year. The temperature here doesn’t fall below 18C and doesn’t rise above 28C. Approximately 90% of all hotels in the Hawaii Islands are located nearby this beach. At nighttime the center of Honolulu shines with numerous lights. Just like in any other capital, the center of Honolulu is the region around the residence of Hawaiian kings. The name of the palace is taken from eastern literature and is called “the palace of sky bird” or Iolani. This is also the only royal palace remained on the territory of the US. Polynesian Cultural Center is one more sight of the city. After attending this place you will feel like you have visited different parts of Polynesia – Samoa, Tahiti, the Marquesas Islands, New Zealand and Tonga Kingdom.
