Among the Indian peoples living on the territory of North America, the Ramapo tribe is considered to be the most mysterious. They succeeded in concealing the tribe from the whole world for a few centuries. Until the end of the 18th century no one knew about their existence. At the beginning of the 18th century, the colonization of the east coast was completed. The European emigrants have carried out the full census of the tribes living on the coast of the Atlantic and on the coasts of the Mississippi River.
The colonizers have probably been astonished when they discovered a large tribe almost one hundred years later in one of the woods, not far from New York. It was called the new tribe of Jackson Whites, and later he got the name Ramapo. Although the Indians lived in isolation for many years, they are very well informed about the peculiarities of the modern lifestyle and know their rights very well.
After the first broadcast of the film "eye for eye", the tribe immediately appealed against its creators. It is about the fact that all members of the Ramapo tribe are presented in the film as cruel and poor people, that does not really correspond to reality and offend the honor of the tribe. The population of the tribe is about 5,000 people. Ramapo people behave very kindly to others, and have formerly given shelter to the fugitive slaves. Nevertheless, the tribe still lives in isolation and avoids any innovations. The tribe does not want to "join" the society.
