In the Chinese province of Xinjiang, Shipton's Arch is located. The arch is located in the mountaineer's popular district, which has recently visited the ordinary tourists. The natural sight was discovered by the amateur mountaineer - Eric Shipton, and to his honor was called the bow. The mountaineer has researched the hard-to-reach area in 1947. Since then, the unbelievably beautiful arch attracts the usual tourists and hikers.
The settlement next to the arch is the village of Artush, in whose surroundings you can still find some strange natural but smaller arches. Shiptons Arch is located at the height of about 370 meters above sea level. The natural monument looks very impressive. Locals call the natural sights different. They use the name Tushuk Tash, which is literally translated by Chinese as a 'heavenly trail'.
Despite the hard-to-reach location, the aborigines had been in the ark from time immemorial. They called him 'the arbor of the gods' and believed in his magical powers. As an old legend tells, every man who dared to get to the bow should pay for it with his life. The heroic act of Eric Shipton was forgotten for more than 50 years. No one has value on its unique discovery. The next expedition to the bow took place in the year 2000. Ever since, Shipton 's Arch has been a landmark for the world.
