The Savoy is a true legend of London. This is one of the most prestigious and expensive hotels in the world. The opening took place in 1889, and just 10 years later the hotel already was a landmark of the international level. Right from its opening, the hotel was getting the most up-to-date innovations of that time. The Savoy was the first hotel in the country to use electrical lighting in guest rooms. Later, its visitors could enjoy telephones and elevators. During its long and respectable history, the hotel was visited by hundreds of prominent people. Claude Monet admired the luxury of the hotel; later, two suites – 512 and 513 – were named after the famous artist. Harry Truman was among the famous guests, who stayed at The Savoy. Charlie Chaplin also enjoyed staying in luxurious guest rooms. Nowadays, modern travelers have an opportunity to stay in guest rooms that once were used by such famous people as Oscar Wilde, Frank Sinatra, Winston Churchill, Elizabeth Taylor, Marlene Dietrich, Marilyn Monroe, Elton John, and many other celebrities and nobles. Savoy Grill restaurant, which is open in the legendary hotel, is also worth a mention. This restaurant is managed by star chef Gordon Ramsey.

The prestigious apart-hotel Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott is also one of the legendary historical landmarks of London. The building of the hotel was constructed in the 17th century. Initially, it was owned by Lord Chetwynd. Later, the luxurious palace was bought by the Duke of Cumberland, but he was not the last owner of the building and soon the Duke of Gloucester became the owner of the magnificent palace. In 1806, the palace was purchased by Lord Grosvenor. It was decided to name the hotel after him. Grosvenor House served its first guests in 1929, and in 2012 the hotel was reopened after a full-scale renovation. The latest renovation has brought some changes, including “At Home Programme” – the collaboration program of the hotel and famous artists, photographers, writers, and other creative people. Travelers, who choose to stay at this premium apart-hotel, can participate in interesting master-classes and culture-related events.
