There are several mysterious places on the Zayatsky Island in Russia. There were found about 10 labyrinths made from medium-sized stones of the right oval form. Their diameter goes from 3 to 20 meters. Apart from the labyrinths on the island were also found about 850 artificial stone ancient settlements, made from field stones of different size.
Also, there were found a lot of stones with the unusual symbols that resemble sunbeams. The main mystery of the island is the Great Zayatsky Labyrinth. Is was placed on the slope of Sygnal mountain in the area of 0,4 square meters. Within the years the researchers made out that all stone buildings on the island were made only from the local field stones. There are a lot of hypotheses that explain how these labyrinths and other stone buildings have appeared.
Some researchers claim that thousand years ago these labyrinths were something like a border between the living and dead words for locals. Other say that these stone labyrinths and burial mounds could be used for some cultic ceremonies. The most unbelievable hypothesis says that with the help of these complex buildings locals made special tools for hunt and fishing. The best time for visiting Zayatsky Island is the warm season when all ancient stone labyrinths are decorated with plants and mosses.
