One of the unique historical monuments was found in Xi'an nearby Qin Shi Huang's mausoleum. There were found more than 8 000 terracotta sculptures of Chinese warriors that were buried on the square with their horses. These sculptures were buried here with the first emperor of the Qin dynasty in 210 BC. We still don't know whose idea was to make this Terracotta Army in a burial place.
These statues have a lot of unusual things. Every sculpture has its own style and decorations. The researchers can't find even the similar faces among 1 000 soldiers. The main version says that this huge complex of statues has a cultic meaning. The emperor’s army has to be in attendance of the emperor even in a spirit world. However, at that time tradition were quite severe and they said that alive army have to be buried with the emperor.
In case the emperor had broken this tradition and ordered to build this complex of terracotta sculptures, he made a great step forward at those time. For instance, the is no official historical certification that it was made in that way and for this purpose. The unique historical complex was found in 1974 when locals decided to redrill the blow well. From this moment the excavations have never been stopped in this area. The researchers have found a lot of unique and outstanding artefacts there. In addition to the statues, there were two bronze wains. Every wain has more than 300 details.
