The Brooklyn Bridge is considered to be the historic landmark of New York and is the oldest bridge in the city, opened in 1883. The bridge stretches over the Meerenge East River and connects two districts - Brooklyn and Manhattan. The history of the bridge construction is incredibly interesting. The author of the design was John Robling. For a number of reasons, the construction work took more than 13 years. Unfortunately, the architect died, and the project was finished by his wife. The son, Washington Robling, continued his son's life work, but he was unable to visit the construction site in person because of the health problems. He communicated all the evidence to the mother, and she, for her part, communicated the clues to the workers.

The length of the Brooklyn Bridge is 1 825 meters, two of them are for cars, and the third is intended for pedestrians. A unique history is also associated with the opening of the bridge. The disapproving have spread the rumors that the bridge is uncertain and can collapse at any time. On the day of the opening, when the numerous people were on the bridge, there was a great panic, as the result 12 people were lost.

In order to regain people's trust, the authorities of New York have decided to let the elephants out of the circus in the city run across the bridge. Only after 21 elephants have crossed the bridge did the city dare have ventured back onto the bridge. The Brooklyn Bridge has a lot of secrets and puzzles. Hundreds of people claimed that they had seen the ghost on the bridge. During the reconstruction in 2006, the workers discovered the entrance into the hitherto unknown secret air-raid shelter in one of the bridges.
