On the territory of Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park in California is a unique McWay Falls, which is characterized by a number of interesting peculiarities. The main feature of the waterfall is its close location to the ocean. So one can actually say that it falls into the ocean. The source of the waterfall is an eponymous stream. The same name also has a charming beach on which it falls.
The height of the McWay waterfall is 24 meters. It is best to admire this natural sight from the upper viewing platform. It is impossible to get to the picturesque beach by land, so many lovers of recreation in romantic and picturesque places sail here by boat or by motor boat. It is important to note that officially the rest on the McWay beach is prohibited because of a high probability of collapse of rocks. However, this nuance does not bother curious tourists who seek to get here by any means and make spectacular memorable pictures.
After visiting the magical waterfall, you can walk through the park where you can see numerous rare plant species, including hundred-year-old oaks and strawberry trees, colorful tropical flowers and bushes. As it was found out by researchers, until 1983 the waterfall fell directly into the ocean. But after several landslides, the topography of the bay changed significantly. Landslides led to the formation of a hard-to-reach beach, and the stream of the waterfall with the ocean's water surface is now divided by several meters of land.
